Freedom First Credit Union
Campbell Avenue Branch
Location: Roanoke, VA
Project Type: Interior Renovation
Project Size: 3,760 sq. ft.
With the opportunity to modernize their Downtown Branch, Freedom First decided to go for it. IDG designed a space with loft-like aesthetics which gave it a modern edge, while still holding onto Roanoke's industrial history. The design space included private offices, conference rooms, a teller line with many support spaces. Wanting to capitalize on the fifteen foot ceilings, the offices were arranged in a pod configuration allowing for the addition of an exposed steel mezzanine to house a conference room. The finishes, fixtures, and accents were selected to enhance the industrial design aesthetic - these include local reclaimed barn wood wall planks, lighting fixtures, a perforated corrugated metal panel ceiling, and decorative accents fabricated by local artisans.
