Member One Federal Credit Union wanted a more prominent presence in Roanoke's downtown district. They hired IDG to design a showpiece building on their corporate campus to achieve this vision. The new facility is situated along a major road and serves three primary purposes:
To combine Member One's main retail branch with its real estate and business services
To provide a more easily accessible location for members' banking needs
To be the gateway to downtown Roanoke from the Williamson Road corridor
The exterior design takes inspiration from other buildings on campus. It combines Member One's signature aluminum panels and blue glass with newer elements like S-curve walls. Building details help break up the building's facade, while the drive-through canopy's unique shape and position next to the building add visual interest. The interior is spacious and functional, with interior elements that add interest and enjoyment to the space. A large wood accent wall at the central entrance greets visitors to the retail wing of the building. This blond wood accent is repeated throughout the facility to add warmth and draw the eye through the space.
